Vacuum Pump Exhaust Muffler Oil Mist Eliminator: for VIOT and Other Selected Models of Vacuum Pumps;

Why this is needed: Every rotary vane vacuum pump has an unintentional byproduct: Oil mist. Because the vacuum pump oil is a volatile liquid, when it lubricate the moving parts, and the moving parts will move part of the lubricant out in the exhaust stream. If the pump is used out door air, you may not feel the oil, but if you are using the vacuum pump in a closed space, the room may get "smoky" after operating the pump for a while. Faster the air passing through the pump, more oil mist is likely to come out of the muffler, higher the vacuum level, lesser the air flow, but faster the evaporation, which will cause greasy air too. This muffler is designed and used to ease this problem.

How it is connected: this muffler come with a 3/4 inch male pipe thread. It can be used directly on VIOT rotary vane vacuum pumps:VPD12a, VPDS10, VPD8, VPD5, VPDS5. VPD3, VPDS3. This will fit on pumps with 25 mm metric exhaust port. Consult with your pump manufacture or adapter is needed.

  Note: This oil eliminator works really well with true natural oil base vacuum pump oil; some synthetic oil mist may still pass through because the nature of the "oil" has been changed and made it more hydrophilic.
